CSD engages in 2023 Medical Taiwan, unveils new highlights, garners media focus
Medical Taiwan was held last week at Nangang International Exhibition Center. This year, CSD features “Healthy in Style” and the Marketing Department Manager Julie Chou stated that CSD is the medical device corporate in Taiwan with 76 years of establishment. However, CSD does not only offer face masks but also produces 700 types of medical devices. In spite of the recent right demand for face masks after the pandemic, the usage of face masks still increases compared with the pre-pandemic period. Hence, CSF features the personal care market this year and exhibits the battle bandage with substantial growth due to the Russian-Ukraine war.
Julie Chou explained that face masks have drawn great attention as necessary supplies due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the last 3 years. However, CSD is not only a company that produces face masks but has produced over 700 types of medical devices as a medical device manufacturer with 76 years of establishment in Taiwan. This year, CSD still releases new face masks at Medical Taiwan and also exhibits products related to personal care, medical supplies, and battle bandage.
Julie Chou pointed out that the current sales of face masks could not be compared with the last 3 years. However, there are still nearly 70% of Taiwanese wearing face masks, whose usage exceeds the quantity sued before the pandemic. The main reason is that the public developed the habit before the pandemic and the psychological demand for wearing masks. Hence, the face mask market is just restoring to the right demand.
Julie Chou shared with us that CSD has observed the post-pandemic rise of the personal care market and released the brand-new Wipe Lab at Medical Taiwan this year. The product is the first to adopt sealed and easy-tear single-pack technology to carry web products such as alcohol wipes and pure-water wipes easily. The public can even carry a wet wipe for cleaning their teeth and gum, in order to maintain cleanliness and sterilization so as to stay away from viruses.
Julie Chou stressed that CSF has shifted from business to business (B2B) market to the consumer market in the last decade and has achieved excellence by growing the sales volume of consumer markets accounting for 20%~30% of CSD sales revenue in 2022 to nearly 50% now. Moreover, the CSD annual sale revenue also grew from NT$300 million in 2011 to NT$1 billion today.
CSD International Department Head Willy Wu stated that CSD offers hundreds of types of medical devices and one of them showed significant growth in 2022, which was the battle bandage. Due to the impact of Russian-Ukraine war, many countries worldwide are storing up wartime supplies and some customers have discussed with us to develop some products with special specifications. CSD exports battle bandages to the U.S. Market with over 20% of sales growth.
This year, CSD designs an environmental sustainability zone as the exhibition this year, to publicly present the various measures taken by CSD in contribution towards environmental protection. At the beginning of this year, CSD was certified by the “ISO14054-1 Greenhouse Gas Inventory” and set up the solar panels in the factory with the installation of the rainwater recycling system. Meanwhile, CSD eventually replaces the external box package of face masks with new package conforming to the “FSC Forest Stewardship Council Certification,” using raw materials from secondary forests or artificially planted forests rather than the primeval forest, in attempt to make efforts in the protection of forests.
